COBRA continue to fly the Mid Wales flag in the Welsh Bowl with a second round 32-14 win at home to Rhyl.

The men from Meifod never looked back after two penalties from Will Worthington established the lead before scrum-half Bryn Davies dived over for a try following a scrum near the line with Worthington adding the extras.

Full back Matt Jones crossed for a second try just before the break to open an 18 point lead.

COBRA were reduced to 14 men before the interval with Jack Jukes dismissed following a tip tackle and left his side to battle on without him in the second-half.

Despite their numerical disadvantage the hosts extended their lead with flanker Lee Hughes crossing from close range with Worthington converting.

Rhyl rallied with a try of their own before COBRA completed their tally with Hywel Jones and Iwan Vaughan linking to release flanker Chris Morris to cross with Worthington converting with Rhyl having the final say with a late consolation try.
