RGC South U15s went down 22-5 at the hands of Cardiff Schools A in Meifod on Friday night.

A large and vociferous crowd descended on Cae COBRA for the clash as a side selected from the southern clubs of the RGC region tested themselves against the best.

The capital side enjoyed a dream start when wing Joe Jackson skipped through the RGC South defence to cross for a try inside the opening five minutes.

However far from capitulate the home side showed its resolute defence and ensured themselves still in the game at the break.

The home support were sent into ecstasy when flanker Will Lydford charged his way over the whitewash to level the score early in the second-half.

However the score spurred the visitors in to action and quickly regained the initiative and some slick handling created the space for Efkan Akar to score Cardiff’s second try, converted by full back Owen Richards.

RGC threw everything in to attack and for the next 20 minutes put the Cardiff team under immense pressure.

Having failed to score during this period, RGC were heartbroken when Cardiff delivered a double quick blow with a brace of tries.

First Ethan Hartley crossed before Charlie Day went over to put the game beyond RGC who were left to try and heed the lessons of the evening.
