GEMMA Jones struck an 83rd minute winner as Llanfair United remained unbeaten with a 1-0 win at Kinmel Bay.
The match looked to be heading for a draw when Nora Davies battled a route to goal before releasing the prolific Jones to net and keep United top of the North Wales Women’s League.
Meanwhile Powys’ only other senior club opened their campaign on a high as Hay St Marys prevailed 6-3 winners over Tupsley in the Herefordshire Development League.
Summer signing Jade Perry led the way with a four goal haul while Gemma Bradford and sister Lauren Bradford completed the scoring.
