Guilsfield 1
Buckley Town 3
GUILSFIELD paid the price for a poor display as new boys Buckley Town celebrated a deserved win at Clos Mytton.
An even first-half saw both sides carve a handful of openings with the Stags going closest to breaking the deadlock with Adam Eden striking the woodwork.
However Guilsfield suffered a nightmare start to the second-half with Aled Bellis converting a penalty on 50 minutes after Dylan Roberts was impeded in the area.
The Guils’ defence was breached again on the hour with Chris Roberts afforded the freedom of Clos Mytton to power home Jake Roberts’ corner.
Guilsfield introduced Steve Blenkinsop from the bench and the change paid dividend when the well travelled striker slotting past goalkeeper Callum Humphries to give his side hope of a comeback with 15 minutes remaining.
However the Stags settled the outcome with three minutes remaining with Kieron Moore’s low left wing cross deflected off Sam Litchfield and back into his path to fire beyond goalkeeper Mike Jones and complete another miserable day for the Guils.
GUILSFIELD: Jones, Bromley, Parry, Rogers (Weetman), Litchfield, James, Clifton (Blenkinsop), Ford, Harris, Jenkins, Richards. Sub: Cathrall.
