The hosts enjoyed early success with Danny Foulkes and Craig Davies (1-28) claiming wickets before Chris Hodson revived the visitors in a 30 run third wicket stand.

Foulkes (2-33) maintained the pressure on the middle order with Dave Wilkinson (2-26) celebrating the wicket of Hodson, caught by Davies for 24 with 90-5.

Sam Morris (2-57) before Ryan Blayney (1-38) snared Chris Hodson LBW for a top scoring 38.

However an unbroken 25 run seventh wicket partnership between Ben James (23no) and Alex Musgrove (10no) guided Madeley to 170-8 for Town to chase.

Foulkes (16) and Davies (19) began brightly in reply before their fall sparked a collapse as Lol Woodhall (4-17) and Chris Hodson (2-21) struck.

Wilkinson offered defiance before departing to Callum Hodson (3-0) who swept through the home tail end to complete their demise for 70 in the 32nd over.

Montgomery IIs’ first division campaign ended in a six wicket defeat at Wellington IVs.

Batting first in a reduced over game 35, Monty posted 132-5 to defend with Matthew Jones (47) and Rob Yewdall (31) defying an attack led by Kumar Singh (2-38) and Lewis Gough (2-24).

Sheehan Guwardina (62no) carried his bat in reply and joined by Matt Earley (44no) in an unbroken fifth wicket stand to guide their side to 133-4 with two overs spare.

Alberbury II’s season also ended in a seven wicket defeat at Frankton IIs.
