GUILSFIELD return to the site of their worst performance of the season when Nathan Leonard takes his troops to Ruthin Town in the first round of the Huws Gray Cup on Saturday.
The Guils players earned a dressing down from their manager for a dismal 2-0 defeat at Ruthin a fortnight ago but galvanised their season with a 5-0 thumping of derby rivals Llanrhaeadr last week led by two goals from summer signing Steve Blenkinsop.
The Guils were also boosted by a late cameo from defender Sam Litchfield following a lengthy injury lay-off with Leonard hopeful the towering centre back will soon be back to fitness.
The villagers make the trip with confidence and will hope to welcome back midfielder Chris Cathrall and defender Curtis Weetman to contention while veteran striker Danny Barton also played a key role in a rare first team cameo against Llanrhaeadr on Friday.
With Adam Jenkins and Blenkinsop also forming an attacking partnership the Guils will look to avenge their league defeat against Ruthin a fortnight ago while also claiming a place in the next round of the cup.
