LLANRHAEADR travel to fellow new boys Conwy Borough in the first round of the Huws Gray Cup on Saturday.

Manager Marc Griffiths insisted the league was the club’s priority this season and planned to use the weekend cup clash to hand several fringe players a chance to impress.

“It’s a chance for us to give some minutes to lads who have been shy of game time,” said Griffiths. “We expect a tough game but our priority has to be the league fixtures and I’m sure the lads that come in will show us what they can do.”

Griffiths backed his squad to bounce back from last week’s derby defeat at Guilsfield.

“Friday was a night where nothing went right for us,” said Griffiths. “The players know the performance was not up to our usual standard but as a management team we have to take some responsibility for the display too.

“We all know we have to be better as this league is unforgiving and if you fail to perform you will lose.
