Ystradgynlais 0 Builth Wells 18

BUILTH Wells maintained their unbeaten start to the season with derby victory at Ystradgynlais.

The first half was a case of missed opportunities with the Bulls edging ahead through a penalty from fly-half Dan Davies.

Builth found their form after the break with centre Tom Samuel making several surging runs before the pressure told with hooker Ben Pugh driven over the whitewash following a line-out.

The Bulls continued to dominate the scrum against a tiring home pack and extended their lead with a penalty from Davies.

Builth settled the outcome following a sustained spell of attacking play with another attacking line-out culminating in second row Lucas Evans charging over for a try with Davies converting.

Backs coach Rob Lloyd said: “I am very pleased with the bulls defence and fitness.

“After a very frustrating first-half we showed great control in the second-half to get the win against a strong Ystrad team.”
