OLLIE Woods starred with a hat-trick as Newbridge celebrated a 5-2 win at Hay St Marys to maintain their promising start to the MMP-NL Mid Wales League Two campaign.
Both sides are expected to challenge for second division honours this season but it was a visiting Newbridge side which seized the initiative at Forest Road with Woods scooping the man of the match plaudits.
Further goals from Aeron Powell and Matty Meredith completed the tally for the Bridgemen while Matty Tong and Jack Biggs netted replies for Hay.
