Welshpool 204 all out lost to Forton 205-1 by nine wickets
A GALLANT battling display was not enough as Welshpool crashed to a nine wicket defeat at home to Forton.
Nick Davies joined Paul Chapman in a 58 run opening wicket stand before falling to Jon Sisson (1-63) for 24.
Dan Chodecki departed to Rob Woodhall (1-28) for seven before Chapman and James Breese enjoyed a fruitful 74 run third wicket stand to work the scoreboard.
Chapman finally departed to Harry Kenyon (2-58) for 55 to leave Breese (55) to be joined by Patrick Davies (17) in adding 37 for the fourth wicket before falling to Ross Barton (2-6) in quick succession to leave their side 186-5.
Pool suffered a middle and tail end collapse as Ashley Gillum (2-38) restricted Pool to 204 to defend.
Barton was joined by Kenyon in a match winning 194 run opening wicket stand before falling to Rob Anderson (1-68) for 118.
Kenyon (53no) carried his bat alongside Will Poultney (6no) to guide Forton to 205-1 in the 34th over of their reply.
