HAFREN Dirt Club hosted a youth hare and hounds event last week with more than 80 riders descending on Trefeglwys

A host of Hafren riders were in action with Harry Jones claiming third in race one of the bumper novice 50cc class while Hafren’s Hal Johnson won the opening 85cc race with Euan Edmunds third and Jac Mills-Stephens ending fourth.

Tommy Lewis from Llanbister won the FB50s ahead of Oliver Evans from Abermule and Aaron Jones from Machnylleth.

Hafren’s Max Jones was third on his Electric Trials Bike with Newtown’s Alfie Francis third in the open class.

The second race of the evening was contested by 40 riders across five classes and led home by Sion Evans of Cwmann ahead of Tom Wright of Llanafan Fawr while George Hughes of Trefeglwys finished third

Hafren’s Rees Jones won the 65cc race while clubmate Endaf Hughes of Trefeglwys lost the lead with two laps to go of the 85cc race and had to be content with second.

Lewis Abel from Llanidloes took eighth place in his competitive debut.

Llanidloes’ Oliver Bebb led from start to finish in the 50cc while Caersws’ Sean Smout took second from Rhayader’s Harrison Rees.

The winner of the Novice 125cc was Kris Price from Llandrindod Wells who also finished third overall while Hafren’s Rhys Coates was seventh.
