MIKE Jones will bid to help Guilsfield kick start their campaign at home to Gresford Athletic tonight (Friday).

The 25 year old goalkeeper joined the Guils from Gresford last week but has faced a baptism of fire with the Guils crashing to successive defeats to Bangor City and Penrhyncoch.

In last season’s corresponding fixture Gresford were docked points and fined after their manager Steve Haliwell led a player walk off with the Guils hoping to avoid a repeat on Friday.

Meanwhile Penrhyncoch are also in Friday night action at Rhyl.

The Roosters have enjoyed a superb start to the campaign with new signing Craig Williams revelling since his arrival from JD Welsh Premier side Newtown.

The club have also bolstered their coaching set-up with ex-Aberystwyth Town ace Iwan Roberts joining Gari Lewis’ bench.

Elsewhere Llanrhaeadr face their longest trip of the season at Holyhead Hotspur.

Despite a midweek defeat at Airbus UK the villagers make the trip with confidence having already picked up six points.

Manager Marc Griffiths said: “We set ourselves a points target for the first four games and have already passed that.

“This takes off any pressure and we can continue to find our feet at this level and being part of this competitive league.”
