Guilsfield 141 all out lost to Bridgnorth IIIs 237-6 by 96 runs
GUILSFIELD’S fourth division promotion hopes were dealt a blow with a heavy home defeat at the hands of Bridgnorth IIIs.
The visitors posted a commanding 237-6 to defend with Benjamin Taylor (53), Richard Ealey (43), Guy Black (40) all among the runs while Jack Welch (25) and Alex Starr (21) also chipped in.
Dave Court (2-53) was the pick of the home attack with Gary West (1-37), David Jones (1-43), Hugh Curteis (1-50) and Duncan Todd (1-21) also claiming wickets.
Todd led the Guils reply before departing to a catch from Starr off the outstanding Will Buxton for 44
Buxton (6-15) tore through the home order with support from Ben Creswell (2-3).
Court (20no) led tail end defiance but was unable to prevent his side falling for 141 in the 32nd over.
