FORDEN United opened the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League Honda Division One season with a 4-0 win over Caersws Reserves on Friday night.

A Josh Gethin double and strikes from Ryan Jenkins and Tom Anderson ensured a dream start for Jonny Roberts’ men.

Harry Garthwaite starred with a hat-trick with Danny Barton also netting a brace in Guilsfield Reserves’ 6-1 verdict at Llanfair United Reserves.

Jon Lloyd completed the Guils tally with Tom Gregory netting a consolation for the hosts.

Zac Emberton scored the only goal of the game as Trewern opened their campaign with a 1-0 win at Meifod.

Meanwhile Conrad Galloway netted twice before seeing red as Maesyrhandir claimed a point in a 2-2 draw at Llanfyllin Town who claimed a share of the spoils courtesy of strikes from Mike Jones and Rhys Evans.

Callum Whyte starred with a hat-trick as Llanymynech opened their Mitsubishi Division Two campaign with a 5-1 at home to Llanfyllin Town Reserves.

Sam Roberts and Rob Jones completed the tally with Bryn Thomas netting a consolation.

Llanfechain also toasted a winning start to the season with Liam Astley and Byron Edwards both completing doubles in a 5-2 derby win over newly formed Llanwddyn.

Lloyd Meredith also netted for the hosts with Kevin Jones and Scott Hamilton replying.

Abermule Reserves marched to a 5-1 win at Welshpool Town Reserves with Will Denham leading the way with a double while Ryan Jarman and Craig Clayton completing the villagers tally while James Clewlow netted in reply.

Neil Lloyd-Jones struck twice with Dafydd Evans also on target as Newtown Wanderers prevailed comfortable 3-0 winners at Churchstoke Reserves.

Meanwhile Sam Mumford and David Lewis-Jones goals cancelled a Ryan Gardener reply as new boys Four Crosses Reserves battled to a 2-1 victory at Kerry Reserves.
