TWO graduates of the Newtown based Maldwyn Harriers Athletics Club represented Wales at the Manchester International this week.
At the time the County Times went to press Welshpool’s Adele Nicoll was set to represent Wales in the women’s shot put and discus while Trefeglwys’ Lauren Williams lined up in the women’s 400m and the women’s 400m relay.
Nicoll said: “It is always an honour to pull on the Welsh vest. It may be my last competition of the season so I am just going to go out there and give it my all and try to finish on a high.
“Thanks to all my local sponsors especially Rikki Lloyd Butchers, Fitzgerald’s Salon, Dawson Shanahan and Great Escape Fitness.”
