TNS 5 Barry Town Utd 1

GREG Draper came off the bench to net twice as TNS strolled to an emphatic victory over an outclassed Barry Town United.

The Saints broke the deadlock after Blaine Hudson rose to head home Chris Seargeant’s 13th minute free-kick.

Kurtis Byrne spurned several openings to extend the hosts lead and the South Wales side were back on terms soon after with Curtis Watkins unmarked to head home.

Having also conceded twice from corners in the Europa League defeat to Midtjylland the previous week the goal served as another reminder of the Saints frailties ahead of the second-leg in Denmark.

However TNS restored their advantage with Seargeant blasting beyond a despairing Mike Lewis on 43 minutes and within seconds the midfielder completed his quickfire brace with the Barry Town goalkeeper once again beaten from distance.

Barry started the second-half well with Mamadou Touray testing home goalkeeper Paul Harruson on 66 minutes.

However substitute Draper steered home Jamie Mullan’s 73rd minute right wing cross to put the game to bed and completed his brace five minutes later with a ferocious strike beyond Lewis as the tiring Barry defence was once again found wanting.
