PENPARCAU return to the top tier of the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League this season.

The Min-Y-Ddol club head into the campaign bolstered by the arrival of striker Nathan Warren while Anthony Evans, Liam Jacques and Mike Gornall arrive from Mid Wales League One club Aberaeron and Andrew Gittins arrives from Bow Street.

A club spokesman said: “We have brought in players with Mid Wales League and Alliance experience and aim to be at the top on the table come end of the season.”

Dan Parry has taken the helm of Padarn United who go into the campaign without Paul Griffiths who has retired after 30 years service and the injured Gareth Hughes but bolstered by the signing of Yasar Aydogmus from Bow Street while Ifan Slinger returns after a year of playing rugby.

Bont’s title defence will be jointly led by Lee Jones and Sion Jones who completed a double transfer coup in signing Liam Lewis from Penrhyncoch and Chris Wilkins from Aberaeron while Andrew Carree has retired.

Jones said: “Many clubs have strengthened, making the league more competitive which can only be a good thing.”

Tregaron Turfs will also be among the challengers having signed Arwel Jones, Will Williams and Iwan Davies from Dewi Stars while striker Rhun Garner returns from Bow Street.

Llanilar and Talybont are joined by reserve strings from Bow Street, Machynlleth, Penrhyncoch, Aberystwyth University and Tywyn Bryncrug in the 11 club first tier while Aberdyfi and Llanon are joined by reserves from Borth United, Dolgellau. Llanilar, Padarn and Penrhyncoch Thirds in division two.
