Recognition for league

THE Mid and North Powys Junior League has been named the Central Wales Football Association (CWFA) junior league of 2018.

Delighted league administration secretary said the award was testament to five years of hard work by officials, coaches, clubs and players to raise standards.

Inns said: “I’m sure I speak on behalf of all the committee when I say how delighted we are to have won the award, perhaps even more so by the fact people took the time and effort to show their appreciation by nominating the league in the first place.

“We are fortunate to have a group of committed individuals who are prepared to give up their free time to ensure that organised football is offered to young players in Mid and North Powys at all ages from under six right through to under 16.

The league is also pushing to develop a girls league for the region and aim to hold more festivals next season.

Meanwhile Berruew Junior Football Club has been named CWFA club of the year.

Inns said: “I’m delighted the club has been recognised for developing both boys and girls. The award caps a very successful season for the club having attained FAW Gold Accreditation and this award is a real honour for all involved.”
