Alberbury 179-9 beat Pontesbury 165 all out by 14 runs
MARK Jones proved the difference with an unbeaten knock of 88 inspiring Alberbury to a 14 run victory over Pontesbury.
Jones offered lone resistance as Matt Smart (3-21) and Sam Morris (2-48) swept through the home order.
Myles Thomas (16) and Andy Holloway (22) rallied the tail end before their fall to Patrick Cudmore(2-34) to leave Jones (88no) and Alberbury left defending 179.
Thomas (2-26) celebrated the key wicket of opener Owen Morris for 31 before Sam Morris (2-37) snared Cudmore LBW for 33.
A middle order collapse saw Dan Walker run out by Morris for 32 and Smart run out by Dan Leach for 21 to swing the game in Alberbury’s favour.
James Harrap (1-11) trapped John Morris LBW for 10 before Holloway (1-27) and Neil Savage (1-29) polished off the Pontesbury tail and complete their demise for 165.
