HISTORY was made at the 2018 Newtown High School annual sports day with more than 37 new records set or equalled on a memorable day.

Chloe Murton-Davies set a new Year 8 girls 800m record with a time of 2.47 while Sarah Parry is the new Year 8 girls javelin record holder with a distance of 16.68m.

Aled Breeze claimed the Year 8 boys 400m record with Jamie Walker’s throw of 30.19m setting a new Year 8 boys javelin record.

Trimple jump star Polly Holloway set a new Year 9 girls record of 8.73m while Lucy Sayce set a new year speed bounce record of 81.

Kamil Zajakowski also set a new Year 9 boys speed bounce record of 81 with Oliver Jones setting three new school records in the 400m, 800m and 1,500m to maintain his rising star.

Times of 1.02 in the 400m, 2.19 in the 800m and 4.59 in the 1,500m earned Jones plaudits from British international running star Andy Davies.

Olivia Robson also set two new Year 10 girls records, entering history in the 400m with a time of 1.06 and long jump with a distance of 4.20m.

Meanwhile Carys Breeze set a new 800m record of 2.42.45 while Carrie Jones broke the 1,500m record in 5.42.

Megan Costall levelled Ceira Trigg’s 2010 discus record of 19.8m while Sally Murton-Davies set a new triple jump record of 9.10m with Libby Isaac breaking the speed bounce record with 89.

Sam Wall’s distance of 36.95m set a new Year 9 boys javelin record while Tom Jarman established a new discus record of 32.20m.

Dylan Downs’ leap of 10.62m set a new triple jump record while Zac Pryce’s 1.51m earned the high jump record and James Sayce a speed bounce record of 79.

Natasha Pryce broke the Year 11 girls 100m and 200m records with times of 12.99 and 27.15 while Mille Morgan set a new 400m record of 1.13.

Seren Lloyd-Kerry’s distance of 4.26m set a new long jump record while Katie Shackleton broke the triple jump record with a distance of 9.62m.

Meanwhile Shackleton joined Kiyra Tearle and Danielle Cork in setting a new speed bounce record of 71.

Niall Bentley’s distance of 10.90m set a new Year 11 boys shot record while Lloyd Davies broke the discus record with a throw of 31.10m.

Jake Poole’s effort of 5.30m earned him the long jump record while Rhys Humphreys’ leap of 1.61m saw him claim a new high jump record.

Will Luke completed the record busting day with his effort of 76 speed bounces.

Meanwhile Newtown High School school also confirmed its victrix ludorum winners for the year with Chloe Murton-Davies, Lucy Sayce, Sally Murton-Davies and Natasha Pryce joined by victor ludorum winners Aled Breeze, Oliver Jones, Dylan Downs and Rhys Humphreys.
