Guilsfield 179-7 beat Corvedale 177 all out by three wickets
GUILSFIELD overcame a battling Corvedale to maintain their promotion bid in division four.
Gary West (2-24) and Dave Court (3-33) restricted the visitors but were frustrated by Zahir Mohammed who dug in to offer middle order defiance.
Mohammed was finally removed having survived several LBW appeals, caught by West off David Williams (2-27) for a top scoring 48.
A superb debut from Luke Grainger included three catches to restrict Corvedale to 177.
Harry Aldridge (2-41) and Mohammed (2-22) tasted early success, including the removal of Williams, caught by Rob Mantle for 20.
However the Guils middle order impressed with Andy Pugh (37) supported by Dave Lewis (24) in closing on their target before both fell to Mantle (2-31).
Guilsfield were not to be denied with Court (31no) joined by Jordan Peate (5no) in an unbroken seventh wicket stand to secure glory in the 33rd over.
