THREE members of the successful Berriew Bowling Club represented Wales at the 10 Nations Test Match in Cardiff this month.

Emma and Sophie Gittins were joined by clubmate Bryony Wilson in a Welsh women’s squad which took on the best bowlers in the world from countries including Malaysia, Australia, Jersey, Canada, USA, South Africa, Spain and Ireland.

Wales was represented by two sides, known as Wales and Cymru.

Emma helped the Cymru side to a silver medal in the fours having lost to Malaysia in the final.

Sophie represented Wales in the fours while Wilson helped form part of the Cymru triples team.

Sophie Gittins is back in international action this weekend as part of the Welsh squad competing in the Women’s Junior International Series in Leamington Spa.

Presteigne’s Rhiannon Weale will also be in action while Llanidloes bowler Naomi Evans steps up to make her international debut with the side managed by Berriew’s Hazel Wilson.
