Bishops Castle 116-9 lost to Wellington IIIs 171-6 by 55 runs
BISHOPS Castle’s struggled continued with a 55 run defeat at Wellington IIIs.
Richard Powell (2-16) and Tom Moulder (1-19) struck early but the home side built their innings with a middle order revival led by Ian Murphy and Adithya Manigandan before the latter was caught by Andrew Lewis off Richard Langford (1-51) for 39.
Simon Palmer (2-40) bowled Murphy for a top scoring 88 with Richard Atherden (13no) steering Wellington to 171-6 to defend.
Powell (23) was joined by Richard Fifield (32) in a bright top order display before Manigandan (3-17) and Lewis Gough (2-11) swept through the middle order.
Palmer (10no) and Adrian Lewis (10no) held out for the last wicket at 116-9 but could not prevent their side slipping to an eighth defeat of the season.
