Montgomery 110-3 beat Hodnet 109 all out by seven wickets
Montgomery were crowned T20 Junior Slam champions on Thursday with a convincing victory against Hodnet at Bomere Heath.
Chasing 109 runs to win, Montgomery knocked off the winning runs inside 15 overs for the loss of just three wickets.
Captain Sam Williams said: “I am absolutely thrilled for everyone involved with the club.
“Winning the trophy is fantastic for Montgomery Cricket Club and the town as a whole. It was a great team performance, not only by the lads who played on the day but everyone who has been involved at some point throughout the competition.
“We have a really strong squad and we now need to maintain our focus and keep our winning run going.
“It is important that we use the momentum to close the gap between ourselves and second division leaders Ellesmere to make 2018 a season to remember by clinching the double.”
Thomas Corfield added: “Putting in a man of the match performance in the final is something special. I have been in good form lately and was delighted to put together a decent innings to bring the trophy home to Lymore.
“It was a great all-round team performance and it was brilliant to see so many of our fans make the journey to Bomere Heath to cheer us on and ultimately celebrate the victory with us.”
