MONTGOMERY IIs slipped to a five wicket defeat at home to Wellington IIIs in division one of the Henshalls Shropshire Reserve League.
Jonathan Williams (46) top scored for Monty while knocks from Rob Yewdall (28) and Matthew Jones (20) helped their side to 183 to defend.
Neil Tuffin (2-29) and Ed Bennett (2-18) were unable to prevent Simon Topper (54) and Matthew Earley (67no) guiding Wellington to 184-5 in reply to leave Monty propping up the division.
Meanwhile Newtown IIsβ second division promotion bid was dealt a blow in an eight wicket defeat at Madeley IIs.
Town posted 206-5 to defend with Dai Brown (70) supported by Ricky Davies (33), Keane Marks (26) and Rhys Roberts (20no) in defying Chris Hodson (2-13).
Hodson (67no) was supported by Andy Laycock (60) in guiding Madeley to 208-2 in the 32nd over.
Elsewhere Alberbury IIIs fell to a six wicket defeat at Ludlow IIIs in division two of the Henshalls Sunday League.
Guy Davis (40), Joss Elliott (37), Owain Roberts (52) and Paul Jones (22) guided Alberbury to 194-8.
Davis (3-23) led the Alberbury attack in reply but Phil Lewis (74no) and Jack Condliffe (46) steered Ludlow to 194-4 and glory.
