Alberbury 171 all out lost to Forton 235-9 by 64 runs
ALBERBURY paid the price for a poor batting display in a 64 run defeat at Forton.
Ross Barton led the Forton top order before being stumped by Mark Jones off Sam Morris (1-44) for 28 with Myles Thomas (3-31) also claiming regular wickets.
Alberbury maintained the pressure with Ian Roberts (26) caught by James Hearle off James Harrap (1-29) and Matt Sayers (24) was caught by Jones off Ed Kneale (1-36).
Steve Morris (2-54) bowled Adam Goulding for a top scoring 38 while John Hemmings was caught by Mike Crawshaw (21) to leave Forton defending 235-9.
Crawshaw was caught by Ed Dutton off Goulding (1-30) for 26 to spark Alberbury’s collapse in reply.
Jon Sisson (4-49) and Matt Sayers (3-34) tore through the order with only Jones offering defiance before departing to Chris Sayers (2-20) for a top scoring 78 and complete Alberbury’s demise for 171.
