Guilsfield 168-6 beat Quayside 167-5 by four wickets

GUILSFIELD maintained their bright start to the season with a four wicket win at Quayside.

Dave Harris (1-16) struck early to bowl opener Matt Pattison for a duck before opener Paul Harris was joined by Andrew Hall in building a second wicket partnership.

Dave Williams (1-35) struck with Hall caught by wicketkeeper Andy Trow for 27 before Harris retired not out for 40.

Brenton Fairey led the Quaysiders middle order but lost Neil Williams, caught by Williams off Gary West (1-32) for 19 and Jamie White, caught by Gary Lewis off Dave Lewis (1-12) for 16.

Fairey finally departed for a top scoring 44 as Dave Court (1-32) struck to leave Quayside to defend 167-5.

Fairey (3-41) led the home attack in reply with Gary Griffiths (16), Dave Harris (4) and Duncan Todd (10) falling by the wayside.

Gary Lewis was bowled by Stuart Jones (1-25) for 13 before Williams was caught by Fairey off Jamie White (1-24) for nine.

However Guilsfield finally settled with an unbeaten seventh wicket stand between Dave Lewis (51no) and West (36no) guiding their side to 168-6 and glory in the 26th over.
