WELSHPOOL High School held its annual sports day earlier this month.
Hundreds of students donned their sports kits and divided into the Gareth Bale, Katherine Jenkins and George North form groups.
Athletes competed in a host of field events, including the shot, standing triple jump, discus, long jump and shot before an afternoon on the track with 200m and 100m events sandwiched by the ever popular 4x100m relay events.
The day was a resounding success with hundreds of students enjoying an action packed day of sport.
Teachers past and present were joined by students in marking the event by thanking the retiring Bernard Jones for his years of dedication to Welshpool High School in an era which has seen the Mid Wales school produce a host of future international stars, most famously Welsh international shot putter Adele Nicoll and British long distance runner Andrew Davies.
