LLANDRINDOD Wells hosts the 65th annual Welsh Two Day Enduro next week.

More than 500 solo and sidecar riders will descend on the historic Spa town with crews arriving from as far afield as Australia.

The event forms part of the British Enduro Sidecar Championship, British Classic Championship, Welsh Sidecar and Welsh Championship.

Llanidloes David Williams and Luke Peters will be looking to repeat their their 2017 sidecar championship class win but can expect a challenge from Llandrindod’s Jonathan Williams and Neil James.

Llandrindod’s Keith Helliwell and Toby McLurg and the rival crew of Michael Hutton and Kieran McCarley will be in sidecar expert class action.

The Llandrindod crews of Kelvin and Ash Hammond and Wayne and Jack Mason are joined by Newtown’s Neil Pugh and Antony Mills and Stuart Jones and Aled Morris along with Welshpool’s Craig Davies and Hefin Williams in the clubman class.

Llanidloes’ Charlie Evans is joined by Rhayader’s Alex Walton and Newtown’s Tom Sagar in championship solo action with three time world champion David Knight the man to beat.

Hundreds of Powys riders will be competing across the classes with the first bike leaving Lakeside in Llandrindod Wells at 8am on Thursday and 7am on Friday.

Each day will see three special tests held at Werngoch Farm just outside Llandrindod Wells, Saints Well and Cwmythig Hill near Rhayader.

Event organisers thanked sponsors and supporters Michelin, Rock Oil, Powys County Council, Llandrindod Town Council, NRW and all landowners and residents.

Councillor Jon Williams and Caleb Potgieter, winner of the school’s poster competition from Cefnllys Primary School, will start the event.
