FFION Price and Tim Iveson have been crowned Rhayader 5K series champions.

Llandrindod Wells based Price sealed the women’s title after her second place overall in the final race of three event series in the Elan Valley.

Brecon’s Phil Morris won the race overall with a time of 17:27 ahead of Price in 17:38 with Aberystwyth’s Rob Johnson and Neil Godsell of the Newtown based Maldwyn Harriers leading the challenge in 17:44 and 18:03 respectively.

Morris’ success was not enough to overhaul the lead of Builth runner Iveson who was crowned men’s champion with Godsell sealing third place behind Morris.

Price was crowned women’s champion with fellow Llandrindod Wells star Heidi Davies ending second and Donna Morris of Brecon in third.

Other awards presented on the night included under 20 category winners Ollie Jones of Maldwyn harriers and Tiegan Ward of Brecon while Maldwyn’s Godsell and Jenny Evans won their V35 class.

Brecon’s Charlie Northey and Gunvor Troelson of Builth won the V45s while Rhayader’s Phil and Suzanne Kendrick won the V55 and Rhayader’s Mike Warrick and Rose Thomas won the V65 and clubmate Ray Sharratt won the V75 class.
