MALDWYN Harriers celebrated a medal haul from the Rhayader 5K series.

The three race series concluded in the Elan Valley last week with Llandrindod Wells’ Ffion Price and Builth Wells’ Tim Iveson taking overall glory.

However several members of the Newtown-based Harriers also claimed titles.

Neil Godsell’s third place finish in the final race of the series was enough to clinch the men’s V35 title while clubmate Jenny Evans took the women’s V35 crown.

Tregynon’s Ollie Jones won the under 20s men’s title to maintain his emergence as a potential future star.

Meanwhile several junior members also celebrated success with Dewi Bradley seeing off Ewan Morgan and Tom Morton for the primary school boys title while Sofia Brandon-Higgs saw off the threat of Chloe Lees and Maddie Hughes for the girls title.

Rhys Lewis won the high school boys title with Ewan Lewis and Morgan Hughes completing the podium.

The final event in the Mid Wales 5k Road Race Championship will be hosted by Maldwyn Harries at Newtown Football Club on Friday, July 5 with the staging of the popular BBQ 5k.
