HEIDI Davies completed her fightback from injury with a call up to the British squad for the forthcoming European Mountain Running Championships.

The Llandrindod Wells star booked her place on the plane to Macedonia with a third placed finish at the Home Countries International Mountain Running Championships in Cumbria which was used as trial for the continental championships on July 1.

Davies spent much of the winter injured having graduated from junior level mountain running following a glittering career.

The up and coming mountain running star has since battled back to fitness.

Davies said: “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d be crossing the bridge into the senior team in 2018 but somehow I’ve done it. The tears that appeared in my eyes at the finish line surprised me almost as much as my legs did throughout the trials.

“I thank everyone who’s supported me through everything and Inov-8, the Metropole Hotel and RWG Mobile for the continued support.
