ABERMULE ran riot in an 11-1 thrashing of Talgarth Town in Spar Mid Wales League Two.

Player-manager Dave Anthony was joined by Charlie Humphreys, Ricky Davies and Will Denham in completing braces while Rob Bayliss, Nick Mumby and Tommy Jones also netted with Talgarth mustering a consolation through Harry Sharman.

Meanwhile Aberystwyth University boosted their promotion bid with a 4-2 win at Brecon Northcote.

Hugo Laing led the Students to glory with a brace while Liam Powell and James Watts goals settled the encounter with the battling Stags remaining in contention through replies from Guy Williams and Craig Evans.

Dyffryn Banw’s home fixture was switched to Newbridge due to the Llangadfan based club’s changing rooms being unavailable.

However Banw ensured the trip worthwhile as goals from Alwyn Jones and Twm Foulkes cancelled Alfie Stonefield’s reply.

The match of the day in Spar Mid Wales League Two between second placed Llansantffraid Village and leaders Builth Wells was a victim of the weather with Treflan waterlogged.

Hay St Marys’ clash at home to Montgomery Town was also postponed along with the scheduled clash between Penybont United and Dolgellu Athletic.
