WELSHPOOL Town took another major step toward the Spar Mid Wales League One title with a 2-0 victory over Llanfair United on Friday.

Will Thomas starred with both goals as Pool overcame a battling Llanfair on a rain soaked Maesydre to remain four points clear at the top.

Meanwhile Llanrhaeadr maintained their own title interests with a 3-1 win at Kerry.

Dan Graham inspired the visitors with two goals while Khyam Wytton also netted while the Lambs reduced the arrears through Ben Davies.

Kerry handed a debut to goalkeeper Trystan Davies who earned plaudits for his display but could not prevent a superior Llanrhaeadr side returning to the Tanat Valley with three points.

Knighton Town edged the spoils in a 3-2 victory at home to Bow Street.

Declan Beddoes netted twice for Knighton with Connor Bird also on target while the Robins were reduced to 10 men with the dismissal of Danny Ives.

Street replied through Garmon Nutting and Tom Williams but Knighton held firm and leaped above their visitors in the table.

Elsewhere a Mattie Davies hat-trick helped Aberaeron celebrate a 4-3 win at Tywyn Bryncrug.

Liam Jacques completed the Seasiders scoring while Tywyn remained in contention through a Joseph Bell brace and Mark Edmonson strike.

The weather claimed the remainder of the league programme with Borth United’s clash at home to Berriew and Machynlleth’s meeting with Llanidloes Town both waterlogged.

Churchstoke’s scheduled home fixture with Radnor Valley and Llandrindod Wells’ hosting of Carno also fell foul to waterlogged pitches.
