THE Grooms Garages Mid Wales Rally Stages make a welcome return to Newtown on Sunday.
The second round of the Pirelli Welsh Championship will see crews take on the famous forests of Hafren and Sweet Lamb with the first setting off from Newtown’s Hafren Theatre at 9am.
The rally makes a welcome return to the Welsh rallying calendar after a year hiatus.
Aberdyfi’s Tom Cave is among the favourites in his Subaru Impreza while a host of Newtown Motor Club (NDAC) crews will also be in action.
Gareth Edwards/Dylan Andrew compete in a Vauxhall Nova while Phil Jones/Clive Jones along with Mark Lennox/Mike Gilbey, Gary Smith/Jonny Evans and Alwyn Passant/Denny Harris will all compete in Ford Escorts.
Alun Jones/Geraint Mills will be behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi Evo while John Newman/Keaton Williams will compete in a Subaru Impreza with Elliott Stafford/Lewis Sim in a Toyota Celica and Ricky Crone/Mollie Swann in a BMW Compact.
