WELSHPOOL slipped to a shock four wicket defeat at struggling Forton in division one of the Henshalls Shropshire League.
Pool never recovered after Chris Hughes (2-22) and Matthew Sayers (1-14) struck to leave them just 12-3 early on.
Captain Tom Anderson joined Matthew Knight in a 45 run fourth wicket stand to revive the Pool innings.
However Knight was snared LBW by Vasanth Ramadoss for 15 before replacement Adam Kight was trapped LBW for a duck by Jonathan Sisson (1-27).
Ramadoss completed his 2-28 with Anderson caught by Ian Roberts for 23 to leave Pool on 59-6.
Patrick Davies and Roger Knight looked to revive the innings once more with the duo combining in a 56 run seventh wicket partnership to guide their side to 116 when Davies was caught by Will Poultney off Rob Woodhall for a top scoring 31.
Knight led tail end resistance until his run out by Sayers for 25 before Matt McWhinnie was caught by Sisson off Woodhall (3-25) to complete their fall for 157.
Robert Anderson (1-21) bowled Roberts for 13 as Pool claimed an early wicket in reply.
However opener Harry Kenyon was joined by Poultney in a 59 run second wicket stand before the latter was caught by Roger Knight off Tom Anderson (1-17) for 27.
Kenyon continued to star and pushed Forton to 136-3 alongside Ross Barton in a 46 run third wicket stand before the latter was caught by Tom Anderson off McWhinnie.
McWhinnie completed his 2-28 with the wicket of Kenyon for 56 but despite the efforts of Allan Williams (2-30) the hosts eased to 158-6 as Woodall (6no) and Ramadoss (8no) ensured with two overs spare.
