THE Welsh Beef and Lamb Mid Wales Under 19s League could run with just eight clubs next season.
The league has operated with two regional leagues for the past few seasons but a sharp decline in membership will mean the league will operate as a single division next season.
Bow Street, Machynlleth, Caersws, Llanidloes Town, Llanfair United, Welshpool Town and new entries Rhayader Town are the only clubs with sides next season.
Outgoing secretary Phil Jones said: “We need more sides to enter and support this league which represents a vital step in the development of young players.
“Certainly clubs with floodlights and junior set-ups are encouraged to enter sides andc ensure the development of their own players.”
Meanwhile Alan Randell of Presteigne has taken on the role as secretary with Ed Parry of Llanidloes the new registrations secretary.
