JOHN Hartson was the guest of honour as Berriew Football Club hosted a McDonalds football fun day last weekend.
Hundreds of young football players from across Montgomeryshire descended on the club’s Talbot Field for a day of fun football themed activities.
Ex-Arsenal, Celtic, West Ham and Wales star Hartson was the main attraction with the popular former professional turned pundit enjoying a full afternoon at the event.
Organiser Paul Inns said: “What a top bloke John Hartson is. He couldn't have been friendlier and had so much time for everyone.
“A huge thank you to the army of volunteers that made today run so smoothly, 48 in total, which in itself says an awful lot about the club. Thanks to all the parents and players for all their support.
“It was a fantastic way to end what has been a very successful season.”
