NEW Welshpool coach Dave Roberts has slammed suggestions that the club might be ailing.
Roberts was unveiled as the Maesydre head coach last week and insisted the future was bright for the club, starting with the reformation of a second string next term.
Roberts insisted that despite the club being the lowest ranked Montgomeryshire club, that the future is bright at Maesydre and backed his side to make an impact next season.
Roberts said: “We only lost two home games all season and we are the only club in the whole of North Wales that cater for boys and girls from six years old to seniors.
“In the grand scheme of things we are far from ailing and in fact have a brighter future than many clubs.”
Roberts said the club have emerged through several years of struggle and will go into next season with every confidence of matching the pacesetters in Gogledd Division Three.
