NOT even former pro footballer Chris Kamara could prevent Welshpool Town from defeat against high flying Spar Mid Wales League One outfit Rhayader Town but, as this seven minute clip shows, it wasn't for a lack of trying.
The former Middlesbrough and Leeds star, turned pundit, featured for the Lilywhites after Sky Sports' Gillette Soccer Saturday programme brought Welshpool's plight to national attention following their Boxing Day thrashing at derby rivals Waterloo Rovers.
After 17-years in retirement the evergreen Kamara dusted down his boots for a starring role in Welshpool's midfield and, despite losing the match 6-1, gave a solid 90 minute performance, setting up Town's only goal with a sweet right foot corner, which was met by the head (nose) of Matthew Stokes.
This YouTube video is also proof that Kamara hasn't lost any of his competitive edge and after a long running battle with Rhayader Town player/manager Dylan McPhee, who clattered him with a nasty sliding challenge in the opening 45 minutes, the 54-year-old can be heard asking his new teammates 'who was it?' and after the game he confronted McPhee, asking 'trying to make a name for yourself?'
But all in all it was a fantastic day and Kamara promises to keep up to date with Welshpool's progress.
Well, at the end of the day, in the words of Welshpool boss Dave Jones, 'he is a former Welshpool player after all".
Will he play for Welshpool again? Who knows. But if he does it will quite simply be 'unbelievable!"
