Llanrhaeadr 4 Flint Town United 3
LLANRHAEADR made a mockery of the league table by stunning high flying Flint Town United at the Recreation Field.
Barely a minute had passed when Ben White glanced on a long clearance from debutant goalkeeper Lee Davies, for Tom Evans to open the scoring.
Llanrhaeadr doubled their lead after 17 minutes with Alun Jones seizing upon a loose header from Danny Dobbins, to steer past a stranded Leon Bimpson.
The home side were in dreamland on half-time when Jones made the most of yet more defensive hesitancy to fire home from the edge of the area.
Flint were much improved after the break with a goal pulled back within a minute, as Simon Thelwell’s 30 yard free-kick left Davies with no chance.
With a quarter of an hour remaining the Deesiders were back in the game, when Thelwell headed home a Paul Williams corner.
Llanrhaeadr were not to be denied and with seven minutes remaining Tom Evans disposessed Stuart Johnson to surge through and chip Bimpson, to complete his brace.
Flint replied with a strike from substitute Richard Hughes with three minutes remaining, but Llanrhaeadr were not to be denied a famous win.
