Swalec Division Two West
Builth Wells 53 Kidwelly 10
BUILTH Wells ended their losing run in emphatic style, with a thumping victory over Kidwelly.
A minute’s silence was held in respect for late Bulls fans John Jones and it was not long before the home side marked the occasion by taking the lead.
Centre Mike Powell went over under the posts following a well worked passing move, with fly-half Luke Offa adding the conversion and, moments later, a penalty.
Builth then reverted to recent form with three penalties in quick succession conceded, with one converted by outside-half Leyton Williams.
However Builth responded with a try from wing Andy Garrod, which Offa converted only for Williams to respond with a try and conversion for the visitors.
The second-half started with Builth again camped in the Kidwelly half and excellent work from the pack resulted in the forwards driving over. Richard Galea emerged from the floor clutching the ball, after securing his first try for Builth which Offa converted.
Builth were playing with confidence and following a break by scrum-half Sean Beehan and offload to Ben Duggan, the Bulls celebrated a bonus point try.
Man-of-the-Match Luke Davies was next on the scoresheet having collected his own charge down, sprinting from halfway to touch down under the posts for Offa to add the extras.
Further tries from replacement wing Sam Gillian and hooker Phil Morgan wrapped up a convincing victory as Builth went on to secure a comfortable and welcome win.
