Rhos Aelwyd 0 Caersws 3
CAERSWS made light work of struggling Rhos Aelwyd, while Mark Griffiths enhanced his reputation as one of the hottest properties in the league.
Griffiths overcame injury concerns to net in each half, as the Bluebirds strolled to victory at Ponciau Park.
Caersws made the most of their Wrexham hosts’ early season struggles, with Griffiths sidefooting his side into a lead after just 12 minutes.
Caersws dominated the first-half with Griffiths and Neil Mitchell going close, before Rob Evans calmly picked his spot following a goalmouth scramble to double the tally after 32 minutes.
Rhos mustered a challenge after the interval, with Cian Phillips forcing a rare save from visiting goalkeeper Dave Jones, while Darren Greenway headed wide.
Caersws were not to be denied and settled the outcome on the hour with Mitchell linking with strike partner Griffiths, who slotted home his 11th goal of the season.
Caersws pressed for further goals while also comfortably soaking up the pressure at the other end, to ensure revenge for defeat at the same venue last season.
“It could have been a lot more on the day, but I was happy with three and the fact we came away with a clean sheet,” said manager Mickey Evans.
