MATTY Williams will press for a return to the TNS starting line-up, when the Oswestrians travel to Prestatyn Town tonight (Friday, 7.30pm.)
The Saints’ top goalscorer missed last weekend’s 3-2 victory over Port Talbot Town, but director of football Mike Davies confirmed the hitman was back in training ahead of the trip to Bastion Gardens.
“Matty returned to training in midweek and returns to selection for what will be a very tough game against formidable hosts,” said Davies. “They have improved each season they have been in the league and we know we will have to play well to get anything.”
Despite the Saints going clear at the top, courtesy of Llanelli’s goalless draw at Afan Lido and Neath’s late capitulation at Bangor City, the cautious Davies refused to focus on matters outside of his control.
“At the end of the day we can only affect our own results and from that point of view last weekend’s victory over Port Talbot was positive,” said Davies. “We could and should have won by a greater margin, but that is in the past now and we were happy with the points.
“I appreciate other results may have gone our way, but there is little we can do about other games and we will continue to focus on our own game.”

The former Airbus UK Broughton coach took over at Park Hall, with Mike Davies take up the director of football role, during the summer and has since masterminded the club’s climb to the top of the table.
