A LLANFYLLIN High School teacher is running the Flora London Marathon for the second time, just weeks after his 60th birthday.
Phil Carr, 60, who is the head of communications at Llanfyllin High School, will compete in the 26.2-mile race on Sunday, April 13, in aid of raising funds for the NSPCC.

Phil last entered the event in 2004, when he finished in a highly respectable five hours and eight seconds. However, the long serving school teacher is hoping to better his time this time around possibly even break the five-hour barrier.

Anyone who would like to sponsor Phil should do so by visiting his webpage at www.justgiving.com/philipcarr
