A FOUR Crosses man is preparing for his second London Marathon, aiming to go faster and raise more money for charity, on April 13.
Ian Hodgkiss, pictured left, completed the marathon last year in 24 degree heat, making it round and raising £1,200 for charity in the process, but says he was pretty disgusted with his time and thought he would never want to run one again.

By the time he was half-way home from London though, he had already decided to return for a second time and explains that Asthma UK was an obvious choice for his 2008 fundraising.

"My six-year-old nephew has suffered with asthma from birth and regularly makes use of local specialist facilities such as the asthma nurse. The funds raised go towards providing essential services and research, said Ian.

"I've set-up a website at www.justgiving.com/ianhodgkiss where people's donations go directly to Asthma UK and also enable people to leave words of encouragement, but people can also just email me at IanHodgkiss@HBOSplc.com"
