TV show joy for singer

A COUNTRY and Western singer from Rhayader appeared on BBC TV in preparation for the release of her seventh album in October 1981.
Marylene Powell appeared on the Western Welsh show in preparation for the release of her album, which featured a selection of 12 Western numbers and hymns, called 'Songs for a Winter's Night'.
Marylene, a farmer's daughter, who lived in Pantydwr, released her album under the Cambrian Recording Label and was also in the middle of a tour of British nightclubs.
