IT was more than 30 years ago when Radnor Valley's Young Farmers' Club finally managed to clinch the the county rally for the first time in 13 years.

The club had had a great deal of success in the past, winning the trophy five times in 10 years throughout the 1950s.

A decline in members was to blame for the lack of wins, although after numbers rose again in the 1970s, the club had as good a chance as any of winning the rally which took place at the Royal Welsh Showground.
Lead by Farmer Horace Price, who was club leader for many years, the club eventually managed to win the county rally in June 1976.

Pictured are Mr Price, chairman Elwyn Probert with club members and supporters of the club who contributed to the success.
