Castle Caereinion's double honour

This week we look back to 1974 when Castle Caereinion, near Welshpool, won the title of the best kept village in Powys and the Montgomery District Council area competitions.


In the Montgomery District Competition, Castle Caereinion beat Berriew into second place. Llandyssil was third and Penybontfawr, Hyssington, Staylittle with Llwyngog, runners up.

In the Powys competition, Castle Caereinion beat Llangenny into second place and Llanyre was third.
