Blind gardener's success at Dinas Mawddwy Show

THIS week we look back at Mr Dewi Jones, of Bronygraig, Dinas Mawddwy, near Machynlleth, who won trophies for best vegetable and best flower at Dinas Mawddwy Show despite going blind 10 years earlier.


Having previously been a top exhibitor at the show, when Mr Jones went blind he devoted almost all his time to gardening.

Speaking at the time, Mr Jones said: "It was a great struggle in the beginning but although it takes me a long time to do everything, it gives me great pleasure and is something worthwhile."
